First-ever online workshop will be held on September 25 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM EST.

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to offer an opportunity for artists of all disciplines to participate in NYFA’s new online professional development workshops. The first series will expand on the second edition of NYFA’s popular textbook The Profitable Artist (Allworth Press, 2018), covering topics such as strategic planning, finance, law, marketing, and fundraising. The kick-off session, “The Fundraising Landscape: Making Fundraising Work for You,” will be presented by The Profitable Artist Co-Editor Peter Cobb and will take place online on Tuesday, September 25 from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM EST. 

Workshop Description
Do you feel overwhelmed by the prospect of funding your art practice or a particular project? If you’re unsure of how to start the fundraising process or curious about how to do it efficiently and effectively, this interactive webinar is for you. We will cover the essential elements of researching and writing grants, designing and optimizing crowdfunding campaigns, and activating your network. Building off of material from The Profitable Artist, we will offer additional tools and strategies to customize a fundraising plan for your purposes and time for questions at the end. Presenter
Peter Cobb is a co-editor of The Profitable Artist and a strategic consultant with an extensive background in the worlds of art, organizational strategy and development, and law. Cobb has worked with NYFA in a variety of capacities, specializing in programs related to entrepreneurship and fundraising. He has worked with numerous individual artists, nonprofits, and small businesses to develop fundraising and earned income strategies. Cobb is also a jazz saxophonist who performs nationally and internationally.
