Event | Meet the Funder: New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA)

Grant information session with NYSCA on Thursday, January 18 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.

Each year, the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) accepts grant proposals in support of arts programming and projects across disciplines. Many of these funding programs are open to artists, organizations, and groups operating with a fiscal sponsor.

NYFA will host a special NYSCA grant information session with NYSCA Arts Program Director Arian Blanco on Thursday, January 18 at 6:30 PM. Join us to learn more about how NYSCA can support your work and the application process. NYSCA grant amounts range from $5,000 to $25,000, and are open to New York State artists at various career stages. This session will specifically cover the application for the Individual Artists category; however, those applying for other categories are welcome to attend. NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship staff will also be available to answer questions about the application process for fiscally sponsored applicants.

Not sure if you qualify for NYSCA funding? Review the guidelines for Fiscal Year 2018 on NYSCA’s website. The FY2019 guidelines have not yet been released.

Since NYSCA grants require a fiscal sponsor in order to apply, consider an Out of Cycle NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship application to support your project. As an arts fiscal sponsor, NYFA’s program allows individual artists, art collectives, and emerging organizations to utilize NYFA’s 501c3 tax status to further the fundraising efforts of their own projects. Fiscally Sponsored projects and organizations also gain access to experienced staff for fundraising and project management consultations, as well as review of letters of inquiry and grant proposals, amongst other benefits. If you’re interested, please email [email protected] to request an Out of Cycle application form. Learn more about NYFA’s Fiscal Sponsorship program here.
