December 21 #ArtistHotline Guest Chat: Crowdfunding Strategies

Get Tips on Building a Successful Crowdfunding Campaign

If you’re on social media, you’ve most likely encountered a crowdfunding campaign in your feed. Crowdfunding has become increasingly popular since it started, offering a new way for artists and entrepreneurs to leverage their social networks to fund projects.

But what makes a campaign successful? On some platforms, less than a third of crowdfunding campaigns succeed. What choices can you make as an artist to help ensure you reach your goal? How can you set an adequate but attainable goal? What is the best way to market your campaign?

Get insight into these questions on Wednesday, December 21, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST on Twitter during our #ArtistHotline Guest Chat, “Crowdfunding Strategies.” We’ll be joined by industry experts and successful crowdfunding practitioners John T. Trigonis, Film & Creative Campaign Strategist at Indiegogo; Nia King, a multimedia journalist who has funded two books and a podcast through crowdfunding: and Jay Silver, an inventor whose Kickstarter-funded project, MaKey MaKey, was inducted into The Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. Learn more about our guests below.

This guest chat is part of #ArtistHotline, a full day tweet chat dedicated to supporting artists in their professional development. In addition to the guest chat, join us starting at 9:30 AM EST with your career-related questions and hear from NYFA staff and our partnering organizations. At 4:00 PM EST, we will be joined by Sarah Corpron, NYFA’s Acting Director of Business Services, who will answer last minute questions you may have about the NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship application before the next quarterly deadline, December 31.

Here’s how you can participate in the “Crowdfunding Strategies” Guest Chat:
