Educational Residency for Curators from China

Educational Residency for Curators from China

Invitation to Host Curators from China for an Educational Residency

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is looking for partners to participate as hosts in an exciting cultural and educational exchange.

This fall, NYFA is leading a professional training program for visual arts curators visiting New York from China. As part of the program, NYFA is looking for NYC-based arts institutions interested in hosting Chinese curators for four (4) weeks. The curators will shadow the institution’s curatorial staff, learning best practices of curatorial and related skills. If selected, the host organization will develop a specific work plan with NYFA staff.

This program will be of particular interest and relevance to organizations seeking creative collaborations and engaged in intercultural dialogue and programming. Organizations working or developing programs that engage international arts communities are also encouraged to apply.

The program will take place from November 7, 2016—December 6, 2016.

Hosts are expected to have the curators onsite for a minimum of 20 hours per week. A $4,000 stipend will be provided as a host-partner administration fee. Each host will take on two (2) curators.
