Call for Artists: Fellowships in Architecture/Environmental Structures/Design
Applications open for NYFA Artists’ Fellowships for Artists in New York State
NYFA’s Artists’ Fellowship Program, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, gives out $7,000 cash grants to artists throughout New York State. Applications are open for five disciplines this cycle, including Architecture/Environmental Structures/Design.
The category includes environmental design; the making of places, spaces, constructions, and landscapes; traditional and experimental forms of architecture (built or unbuilt); functional art & design objects; and/or work made for hire. We are aware of the fact that architecture is typically a collaborative process. Therefore applicants should only submit work for which they are able to demonstrate they played the primary design role.
Applications should include:
- Work Statement (200 words)
- Technical Statement (400 words)
- Cultural Statement (400 words, optional)
- Resumé/Narrative Bio (1 page PDF, optional)
- Work Samples (8 digital images with descriptions)

We award fellowships in 16 different categories, which rotate each year. Other disciplines offered this cycle are Choreography, Music/Sound, Photography, and Playwriting/Screenwriting.
